What information do we collect?
We collect two types of information from and/or about you from two sources. We collect your name, email and mailing/shipping address via PayPal when you order our products on-line using the PayPal shopping cart which is integrated into our site. Indirectly, we collect information via web statistics, gathered by our ISP. These stats do not directly identify you; they are gathered to show what pages are 'hit' or visited, and how often. We do not collect any identifiable information from you or about you when you visit our site.
When ordering products from our site, all personal, address, and/or payment information is collected by PayPal and is held and used by them per their terms of service and privacy policy. They forward to us only necessary shipping and email information.
Summary: We collect your billing and shipping name(s) and address(es), and your email.
What do we use your information for?
Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:
To fulfill and ship your order;
To contact you in case of a question about the order or shipping address;
To notify you that the order has shipped.
To send periodic emails.
The email address you provide for order processing, may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your order, in addition to receiving occasional company news, updates, related product or service information, etc.
How do we protect your information?
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order. Nothing is stored on-line.
Do we use cookies?
We do not use cookies.
Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
We give your mailing/shipping address information and your email to the Post Office and/or UPS or other shipping company to effect the shipment of your order. What they may or may not do with this information is subject to their privacy policies.
Children's Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance (California)
We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act); we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.
Use of PayPal
All our sales are supported by the PayPal shopping cart system and PayPal. We do not collect any credit, banking or financial information of any kind on our website or from PayPal; all personal, shipping, and credit or payment information is collected and used by PayPal. We do not see or receive any personal payment information.
Shipping Information
We do receive your name, email and shipping address via/from PayPal when you place an order. This is used to inform you of the order shipment via email (from UPS or USPS). We do store this information on our computers.
We may use your email to contact you sometime with news about our candle and soap business, such as a new product announcement. At this writing - June 2011 - we have never done this.
